Report: Google to ‘Police YouTube Like it Never Has Before’

by Charlie Nash  25 Aug 2017

Google began to “police YouTube like it never has before” Thursday, cracking down further on “offensive content,” according to a report.
“Google will police YouTube like it never has before, adding warnings and disabling advertising on videos that the company determines crosses its new threshold for offensive content,” reported Bloomberg Technology on Thursday. “Google outlined these moves in June, but the implementation comes as debate about extremism and political speech is front-and-center in the national spotlight — and when tech giants like Google and Facebook Inc. face deeper scrutiny over how they moderate information distributed through their digital services.”…

…The list includes popular conservative commentators such as Diamond and Silk and Prager U, but also includes some of the platform’s biggest creators, ranging from comedy and politics to sex education and gaming….

…The company also announced a partnership with the left-wing biased Anti-Defamation League, who previously blamed Trump supporters for the rise of anti-Semitism, added a popular cartoon frog meme to their Hate Symbol Database, and attempted to slander Breitbart News Executive Chairman Stephen K. Bannon.

Delingpole: Thomas Wictor Is the Latest Victim of Google Censorship

by James Delingpole  24 Aug 2017

Twitter thread genius Thomas Wictor has become the latest victim of the liberal-left tech sector’s war on free speech.

YouTube has suspended his account — allegedly because he violated their “terms of use”; but really, he suspects, for the crime of being a Trump supporter who speaks unpalatable truths about leftist evils.

If you’re unfamiliar with Thomas Wictor, you’re missing a treat. He’s a Venezuelan-born recluse with a rich and varied past who, besides being the world’s greatest (and only) expert on World War I flamethrowers, also happens to produce some of the most fascinating Twitter threads and social media video commentary you will ever see on subjects ranging from Antifa to Pallywood to what’s really going on in Syria and Iraq.

Wictor responds “…The reason I came to the attention of Google was that Donald Trump Jr retweeted me. After that, my YouTube account came under almost daily assault until it was terminated.
On Twitter, I support Jews, Shia Muslims, Sunni Muslims, Christians, blacks, whites — I see no religion or color. My blog posts were all technical.”

“For over a year now Gab has focused on our core mission of putting people first and defending free expression on the internet for everyone,” the company declared. “We seek to offer the market a free speech-friendly alternative to the authoritarian pro-censorship offering of established technology oligopolies.”

“Gab has demonstrated that there is a clear market for free speech online. Our company was profitable during its first year of operation and recently raised $1m in an equity crowdfunding campaign to expand the core team and grow the business,” they continued, before referencing Google’s removal of Gab from their store last week.
